Catering for Employees Can Lead to a Happier Workplace

A lot of market my market professional marketing employers don’t want to cut the costs for offering catered lunched to their employees. They see
it as a needless expense, but with the add benefits its more of an advantage than a detriment. Catered
lunches can serve to ameliorate company culture, employee commitment and overall productivity.
Corporate catering services also provide opportunities for greater productivity. Having an in-house lunch
option allows employees to continue to work through lunch without much of a hassle or feelings of
being snubbed. This can be particularly beneficial for companies that hire salaried employees since they
get paid regardless of productivity or time worked. Increasing the churn rate of their work will only
benefit the company. Studies show that companies that offer in-house lunch lead to increased time
worked.
In addition, with the employees staying in the office to eat lunch it inadvertently has the inadvertent
effect of allowing employees to converse with one another. Employees who acquaint themselves with
one another will result in cooperation among workers and lead to a positive corporate culture, which
can only lead to good things.
One of those good things is an increased association and loyalty to the company. When you make an
employee feel like a prized part of the company’s overall working machine then they do better work.
This better work and cultivated loyalty lead to a low turnover rate.
Of course, for some businesses catering on-site lunches for their employees, even with the added
benefits, may not be feasible or possible. That’s ok. Even if you can only afford to provide lunches two
days a week the added benefits pay for themselves in the long haul. Make sure your caterer appeals to
your employee’s specific food desires. Also, keep the menu on a rotating basis. No one likes to eat the
same thing every day.
